Isaiah 14 - Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 14.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/isa/14/1/s_693001
Meditate on verse 24.

The LORD of hosts has sworn saying,
“Surely, just as I have intended so it has happened,
and just as I have planned so it will stand.”

Isaiah 14 is a great chapter for building your trust in God. It contains prophecy fulfilled: the destruction of Babylon, its king and inhabitants, and the destruction of Assyria; all things that history records as true. The chapter also contains prophecy yet to be fulfilled concerning the oppressor. I believe God gave the prophecy concerning the oppressor, the king of Babylon, to also be prophecy about the coming destruction of the oppressor, Satan. Read the chapter again carefully and decide what you believe.
However you interpret the prophecies, the theme of the chapter is clear:

The LORD of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it?
~Isaiah 14:27

Let that be a theme in your life.

Pray Isaiah 14:7, 24, and 27 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, I trust You for my life and the life of ____________,
that no one can frustrate the plans You have planned for us.
We look forward to the day the whole earth is at rest and is quiet,
when we break forth into shouts of joy.
As we wait, we rest in the confidence that
just as You have planned, so it will stand.
In Your Name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 13 - Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 13.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/isa/13/1/s_692001
Meditate on verse 11.

Thus I will punish the world for its evil
and the wicked for their iniquity;
I will also put an end to the arrogance of the proud
and abase the haughtiness of the ruthless.

The next several chapters of Isaiah contain oracles. An oracle was a message God gave Isaiah. It was a burden within Isaiah until he expressed what the LORD told him. An oracle was a message of doom. This first oracle is to Babylon, present day Iraq. God said it was also a message to the entire world.
God promised to exterminate the sinners from the land. Destruction was coming from the Almighty. The day of the LORD, the day of God’s judgment, was described as cruel, with fury and burning anger.
Oh, how you need a Savior! Thanks be to God you have a Savior through Jesus Christ your LORD! Are you willing to share that Good News before Isaiah 13 is fulfilled?
Pray Isaiah 13:2-3 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, make __________ and me Your consecrated ones,
Your mighty warriors.
Let us lift up Your standard on the bare hill
and raise our voice to tell others about You.
Let us wave our hand that others
may see to enter the door of Your Kingdom.
In Your Name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 12 - Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 12.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/isa/12/1/s_691001
Meditate on verse 2.

Behold, God is my salvation,
 I will trust and not be afraid;
for the LORD God is my strength and song,
and He has become my salvation.

The time phrase “that day” found in Isaiah 12:1 refers to the future salvation of Israel. If you are a Christian, it refers to the day you already have the privilege of living because of what Jesus did in your life. Reread Isaiah 12; it is only six verses long, and see if it is a description of your life.
Pray Isaiah 12:1-2 in thanksgiving to your LORD.

“I will give thanks to You, O LORD;
for although You were angry with me,
Your anger is turned away,
 and You comfort me.
Behold, God, You are my salvation.
I will trust and not be afraid;
for You, LORD God, are my strength and song,
and You have become my salvation.
Thank You, Jesus~”

Isaiah 11 - Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 11.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/isa/11/1/s_690001
Meditate on verse 10.

Then in that day the nations will resort to the root of Jesse,
who will stand as a signal for the peoples;
and His resting place will be glorious.

Isaiah 11 describes Jesus (vs. 1-5) and what the world will be like under His rule (vs. 6-16). Christ will reign in righteousness. His unshakeable Kingdom will be characterized by peace. By the LORD’s hand, Israel will be recovered. The earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD. It will be glorious!
As you wait for Christ’s return, you are to become more like Him. Pray for the characteristics in Isaiah 11:2 to be true in your life and in those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let Your Spirit rest upon _________ and me,
the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the spirit of counsel and strength,
the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
In Your Name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 10 - Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 10.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/isa/10/1/s_689001
Meditate on verse 12.

So it will be that when the LORD has completed
all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem,
He will say, “I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart
of the king of Assyria and the pomp of his haughtiness.”

God used the Assyrians to punish Israel for being disobedient to Him. God then punished the Assyrians for being prideful about how God had used them. They took credit for the things God did through them. Reread Isaiah 10:13-14 and notice all the uses of “my” and “I.” “By the power of my hand and by my wisdom I did this” (Isaiah 10:13a).
God hates pride. Never forget when God is working through you, He is doing it for His purposes and His glory. Nothing good comes from yourself; the only good in you is Jesus. He alone is worthy of praise.
Pray Isaiah 10:12 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You are the One doing and completing all Your work.
Let _______ and me produce fruit for Your Kingdom,
not fruit of an arrogant heart.
LORD, keep us from the pomp of haughtiness.
In Your name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 9 - Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 9.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/isa/9/1/s_688001
Meditate on this repeated phrase from verses 12, 17, and 21.

In spite of all this, His anger does not turn away,
and His hand is still stretched out.

God’s anger burns and His hand is stretched out against sin. 2,700 years ago, the people were proud and arrogant. They were godless evildoers, and every mouth spoke foolishness (Isaiah 9:17). Wickedness burned like a fire (Isaiah 9:18). Oh, how things have not changed in 2,700 years!
God had Isaiah precede these verses about His wrath and judgment with the promise of His grace given to you with the birth of a Child—the birth of your Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). The LORD’s zeal for you fulfilled this prophecy with the coming of Messiah!
You desperately need a Savior! Thankfully, in Christ, God’s anger is turned away, and His hand is not stretched out against you.
Pray Isaiah 9:2 over someone who still walks in darkness for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, _________ walks in darkness.
Let them see Your great light.
They live in a dark land.
Let Your light shine on them.
In Your name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 8 - Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 8.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/isa/8/1/s_687001
Meditate on verses 12-14a.

You are not to say, “It is a conspiracy!”
In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy,
and you are not to fear what they fear
or be in dread of it.
It is the LORD of hosts whom you should regard as holy.
And He shall be your fear, and He shall be your dread.
Then He shall become a sanctuary.

What are you afraid of? What conspiracy theory causes your heart to race? What do you believe about Almighty God?
God told His people to stop listening to the latest conspiracy theory and to stop being afraid. The LORD said to fear and dread Him; He is holy! Once you focus on the LORD rather than surrounding circumstances and people, He will become your sanctuary, your place of refuge from all the craziness going on around you.
Pray Isaiah 8:8, 10, 17, and 19-20 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

"Immanuel, God with us, help ________ and me wait for You.
May we eagerly look for You.
Let us NEVER consult mediums and spiritists
who whisper and mutter.
Let us consult You, God,
not the dead on behalf of the living.
May we test everything we hear by Your Law and Testimony.
In Your name, Jesus~”
