Isaiah 52 ~ Praying Scripture

Please read Isaiah 52.
Meditate on verse 7.

How lovely on the mountains
are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who announces peace and brings good news of happiness
who announces salvation and says to Zion, “ Your God reigns!”

Where do your feet take you?  Do you take delight in walking with God?  Is your walk indicative of the fact that God reigns and in Him you find peace, happiness, and salvation?

Isaiah 52 records many encouraging Words from the LORD.  Treasure hunt those Words and then pray them and share with others.

Pray Isaiah 52:6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12 over those for whom you have been appointed as a faithful, prayerful watchman.

“LORD, You are here,
and You let us know Your Name.
Let our feet be lovely by bringing
Your good news, peace, happiness, and salvation to others.
LORD, You comfort and redeem us.
You have bared Your holy arm so that all may see Your salvation.
Let us touch nothing unclean.  Keep us pure.
Thank You that You go before us, and You are also our rear guard.
In Your Name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 51 ~ Praying Scripture

Please read Isaiah 51.
Meditate on verses 1 and 4.

Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness,
who seek the LORD;
Look to the rock from which you were hewn
and to the quarry from which you were dug.

Pay attention to Me, O My people,
 and give ear to Me, O My nation;
for a law will go forth from Me,
And I will set My justice for a light of the peoples.

The prophet Isaiah is speaking in verse one, giving you Godly advice.  God is speaking in verse 4, telling you to pay attention to Him.

Whom do you pay attention to?  Where do you turn for advice?  What is your first reaction to a troubling situation or a joyous situation?  Do you immediately thank the LORD and ask for His wisdom and help?  Is your bookshelf or Kindle filled with self-help books or is it filled with Bible studies?  Are your thoughts filled with the Word of God or with the latest gossip of friends?

Pray Isaiah 51:7, 12-13, 15-16 over yourself and those for whom God has appointed you a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You are God our Maker.
The LORD of hosts is Your name.
You stretched out the heavens and laid the foundation of the earth.
You are the One Who comforts us.
Do not let us be afraid of man who dies or of the fury of the oppressor.
Put Your Words in our mouth.
Cover us with the shadow of Your hand.
Make us know righteousness
and put Your Law in our heart.
In Your Name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 50 ~ Praying Scripture

Please read Isaiah 50.
Meditate on verse 10.

Who is among you that fears the LORD,
That obeys the voice of His servant,
That walks in darkness and has no light?
Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.

Isaiah 50 contains prophecy about the coming of Messiah in verses 4-9.   Without Christ, we are sold into slavery to sin.  No man can do anything about it, but God’s hand is not too short that He cannot ransom, and He has the power to deliver (Isaiah 50:1-2).  Christ set His face like flint to do whatever it would take to save you (Isaiah 50:6-7).  It would take His life and the horrific abuse that preceded His death.  The only appropriate response to that sacrifice is to fear the LORD, to obey the voice of Jesus, to trust in the name of the LORD, and rely on God (Isaiah 50:10).

As you and those you are praying for grow to be more like Jesus, ask God to make you to be like Him as Isaiah 50:4-5 describes.

“Lord God, give me the tongue of disciples
that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word.
Awaken me morning by morning.
Awaken my ear to listen as  a disciple.
Open my ear and do not let me be disobedient or turn back.
In Your Name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 49 ~ Praying Scripture

Please read Isaiah 49.
Meditate on verses 23b and 26b.

And you will know that I am the LORD;
Those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to  shame.
And all flesh will know that I the LORD, am your Savior
And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Everything God does is for His renown and glory.  God saves and redeems you so all flesh will know He is the LORD.  In all your ways acknowledge Him today (Proverbs 3:6).  God WILL get all the glory.  He loves it when we choose to recognize Him.

Our grandson, Kik, was born last night just after midnight.  He is so beautiful.  We are praising and acknowledging God for His miraculous ways.  Kik’s life is for the LORD’s renown.

I am praying Isaiah 49:1-2 and 5 over Kik today.  Pray these verses over someone you love.

“LORD, You called ____________ from the womb.
From the body of his mother You named him.
LORD, make his mouth like a sharp sword.
In the shadow of Your hand conceal him.
Make him a select arrow; hide him in Your quiver.
LORD, You have formed him from the womb to be Your servant.
In Your Name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 48 ~ Praying Scripture

Please read Isaiah 48.
Meditate on verses 3-5.

I declared the former things long ago,
and they went forth from My mouth,
 and I proclaimed them.
Suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.
Because I know that you are obstinate,
and your neck is an iron sinew and your forehead bronze;
therefore, I declared them to you long ago,
before they took place I proclaimed them to you,
so that you would not say,
“My idol has done them, and my graven image
and my molten image have commanded them.”

Who do you give credit to for what is happening in your life?  God is creating, calling, and declaring.  He says,  “Listen to Me; I am He, I am the first; I am also the last (Isaiah 48:12).”

God wants you to pay attention to Him.  Blessings come when you do.

Pray Isaiah 48:17-19 over yourself and those for whom God has appointed you a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You are our Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
You are God Who teaches us what is best for us.
You lead us in the way we should go.
LORD, help us to pay attention to Your commandments,
so our well-being will be like a river
and our righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Let our descendants be like the sand;
our offspring like its grains.
May their name never be cut off
or destroyed from Your presence.
In Your Name, Jesus~”
